Most of our guides are based on a Standard playthrough, but we have noted where there are significant alterations in boss fights and puzzle solutions while playing on different difficulties. The hardest difficulty, Professional, unlocks once you beat the main campaign, along with a New Game Plus mode. There are 16 chapters in the Resident Evil 4 remake that you can play on Assisted, Standard, and Hardcore difficulties.
